"Trading a player's locker might seem like a strange move," Theo Epstein said, "but it does help us to clear some space, with hopes of eventually trading the player, not just the vessal in which he stores his equipment."
Meanwhile, Lowell seems to be increasingly confused as to why the team is so eager to get rid of someone who has done nothing but good things in Boston. "They've been trying to trade me for years," he said glumly, "so I guess it only figures that since they can't trade me, they'd start trying to deal my belongings. I noticed my glove and all my equipment is gone too."
And exactly why are the Sox so eager to ship Lowell out of town? "One time I took the last slice of ham from the clubhouse spread. That might have ticked off a few folks."
